Recently at church during worship, the words of this poem came to mind. To me, poetry is so misunderstood and can be simple, beautiful, and inspiring. I hope this inspires you to open your heart to the One and only.

i’ve searched the world

to fill this hole in my heart

i’ve tasted the things of this world

and yet nothing fills the void

O Jesus, you are the only

one that can heal my broken heart

O Jesus, you are the only

one that can free me from my chains

i’ve tried to run and flee

because what you ask of me

my pride won’t let me be

wholly dependent on thee

O Jesus, you are the only

one to redeem me
